There are songs that stir something within. Then there are songs like “Squall,” the 5th single from Black Flak and The Nightmare Fighters’ forthcoming album Ode to Ebb and Flow — songs that take you through the storm and leave you changed.

Known for their cinematic, often dystopian storytelling, the Salt Lake City-based Alternative/Post-Rock collective takes a radiant turn with “Squall.” Guitars cascade in energetic layers, rhythms surge with momentum, and Kate’s powerful vocals elevate the track.
